Auranitis Life Line

  Voluntarily, our story of success began to become a truth! We had a group of people who were passionate about helping people in danger or in crisis wherever they are in the world, and this was not an easy dream for anyone, as it requires adequate access to many resources.

All this started with a small team of people who came from different origins to set down together, then start thinking about how they can realize their dream and make it a reality. Our first success was achieved by attracting volunteers with a real mosaic and colorful expertise, as it included journalists, pharmacists, lawyers, engineers, photographers, teachers, trainers, and many other people from everywhere! Moreover, we all shared the same hope at that time, which was to help people in need for help wherever they are.

On that time the Syrian war and crisis was generating thousands and thousands of human cases in crisis either inside or outside Syria, and this motivated the international community to start on directing all of their humanitarian organizations to start helping these tragic cases using all ways or tools to do that, and we also has the same concern with the international community the Syrian war and the people in-crisis thus we started from there to approach all donor agencies seeking to explain to them that we had several Syrian volunteers at our team who know very well the tragic reality of their country, and that these volunteers has the complete dedication with us to help these people and communities in- crisis as much as we can.

Humanity for a better life in-dignity is our ultimate goal for everyone on this earth, and this makes us motivated towards seeking to find places or cases that is in- need for help or aid, hence we found tragedy everywhere cause be war, poverty, and disasters such as the one in Syria which generated thousands of different cases everywhere we can imagine at our minds!

It was not easy for us at all to convince the donor-agencies that we can help them to help the Syrian people and communities who were in-crisis, especially that we did not have neither an institutional existence nor the needed resources to work with the donor agencies, but we kept meeting at our homes, or cafes and we did not even for one second lose our hope or quit on our dream to help these people or communities.

Our first joint meeting as a team was conducted in a public library in Irbid city, where we met and decided to join all of our efforts and expertise together, and then to establish our organization by giving it the name of Auranitis Life Line for Training and Development, which was a non-profit organization. We decided at that time to use this Name, which is a Latin name that was used during the time of the Roman Empire to name the whole area of Houran, which expanded geographically from the borders of Damascus city in Syria to the borders of Ajloun city in Jordan.

Immediately thereafter, Auranitis became one of the loudest voices calling for help for the Syrian civil societies. Instead of being silent and doing nothing, we shouted to make donor agencies hear our voices, and then donor agencies started to look to us and to consider us as an organization that can really help them to help the Syrian communities in disaster and crisis, especially in the southern parts of Syria.

Our sincerity, integrity, and limitless willingness made us earn the trust from the side of both the international community and the local communities’ in-disaster too. Today, all International Humanitarian Organizations and donor agencies such as USAID, UNHCR, NRC, IRC, and many others acknowledged us too.

As we gained this credible reputation the USAID decided to build-up on the capacity of the organization seeking to upscale the organizational structure, and to equip it with all needed resources from expertise, policies, and systems to become capable to run international aid-projects or programs at all levels, and this was another achievement to the benefit of all: Our organization, Humanitarian International Organizations, and people or communities in need for help or aids. As of today, the crises in the Middle East have not stopped yet! Every day we witness a new tragedy somewhere in this volatile area, which keeps us highly alert and motivated to try to find a way to help these people or communities in any way!

بدأت قصتنا مع النجاح كحلمٍ تطوعي، ثم تحوّل هذا الحلم تدريجياً إلى حقيقة. كنّا مجموعة من الأشخاص الشغوفين بمساعدة الناس المعرّضين للخطر أو الواقعين في الأزمات، أينما كانوا في العالم. ولم يكن هذا الحلم سهلاً، إذ تطلّب الوصول إلى موارد عديدة، وإيماناً عميقاً بالهدف.

انطلقت الفكرة من فريق صغير جمع أشخاصاً من خلفيات وتجارب مختلفة، اجتمعوا معاً وبدأوا بالتفكير في كيفية تحويل هذا الحلم إلى واقع ملموس. وكان أول نجاح حقيقي لنا هو استقطاب متطوّعين يمتلكون خبرات متنوّعة وغنية، شكّلوا لوحة إنسانية متكاملة ضمّت صحفيين، وصيادلة، ومحامين، ومهندسين، ومصوّرين، ومعلّمين، ومدرّبين، وغيرهم الكثير من مختلف المجالات. وكان ما يجمعنا جميعاً في ذلك الوقت أملاً واحداً: مساعدة كل من يحتاج إلى المساعدة، أينما كان.

في تلك الفترة، كانت الحرب والأزمة السورية تولّد آلاف الحالات الإنسانية الحرجة داخل سوريا وخارجها، ما دفع المجتمع الدولي إلى توجيه جهوده الإنسانية نحو الاستجابة لهذه المآسي. وكنا نشارك المجتمع الدولي القلق نفسه تجاه ما يعيشه الشعب السوري، فانطلقنا للتواصل مع الجهات المانحة، موضّحين أن فريقنا يضم متطوّعين سوريين يمتلكون معرفة عميقة بالواقع المأساوي في بلدهم، ويتمتّعون بالتزام كامل لخدمة المجتمعات المتضرّرة وبذل أقصى ما يمكن لمساندتها.

إنسانيتنا وسعينا لحياة كريمة للجميع كانا ولا يزالان هدفنا الأسمى. هذا الإيمان دفعنا للبحث المستمر عن الأماكن والحالات الأكثر حاجة للدعم، فوجدنا المأساة حاضرة في كل مكان بسبب الحروب، والفقر، والكوارث، كما هو الحال في سوريا التي خلّفت آلاف القصص الإنسانية المؤلمة في كل اتجاه.

لم يكن إقناع الجهات المانحة بقدرتنا على المساهمة في دعم الشعب السوري أمراً سهلاً، خاصة في ظل غياب كيان مؤسسي رسمي أو موارد كافية في بداياتنا. ومع ذلك، كنّا نواصل اللقاء في منازلنا أو في المقاهي، ولم نفقد الأمل يوماً، ولم نتخلَّ عن حلمنا في خدمة هذه المجتمعات.

عُقد أول اجتماع رسمي لنا كفريق في مكتبة عامة بمدينة إربد، حيث قرّرنا توحيد جهودنا وخبراتنا، وتأسيس منظمتنا تحت اسم أورانتس لايف لاين للتدريب والتنمية كمنظمة غير ربحية. اخترنا هذا الاسم لأنه يعود إلى تسمية لاتينية استُخدمت في العصر الروماني للإشارة إلى منطقة حوران، التي تمتد جغرافياً من أطراف دمشق في سوريا إلى حدود عجلون في الأردن.

بعد ذلك مباشرة، أصبحت أورانتس لايف لاين من أبرز الأصوات المنادية بدعم المجتمع المدني السوري. وبدلاً من الصمت، رفعنا صوتنا ليصل إلى الجهات المانحة، وبدأت هذه الجهات تنظر إلينا كمنظمة قادرة فعلياً على مساعدتها في الوصول إلى المجتمعات السورية المتضرّرة، لا سيما في جنوب سوريا.

نزاهتنا، وصدقنا، وإرادتنا اللامحدودة أكسبتنا ثقة المجتمع الدولي والمجتمعات المحلية المتأثرة بالأزمات على حدّ سواء. واليوم، تحظى أورانتس لايف لاين باعتراف العديد من المنظمات الإنسانية الدولية والجهات المانحة، مثل USAID، وUNHCR، وNRC، وIRC، وغيرها.

ومع ترسيخ هذه السمعة الموثوقة، قرّرت الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية (USAID) دعم بناء القدرات المؤسسية للمنظمة، من خلال تطوير هيكلها التنظيمي، وتزويدها بالسياسات والأنظمة والخبرات اللازمة، لتصبح قادرة على تنفيذ مشاريع وبرامج المساعدات الدولية على مختلف المستويات. وكان هذا إنجازاً يعود بالنفع على الجميع: منظمتنا، والمنظمات الإنسانية الدولية، والمجتمعات المحتاجة للدعم.

وحتى اليوم، لم تتوقف الأزمات في الشرق الأوسط. فكل يوم نشهد مأساة جديدة في هذه المنطقة غير المستقرة، ما يبقينا في حالة يقظة دائمة، ويدفعنا للاستمرار في البحث عن سُبل لمساندة الناس والمجتمعات المتضرّرة، بكل ما نملك من طاقة وإرادة.
